Kia Motors releases sketch of all-new Carnival (Sedona) MPV

Kia Motors has released a preview sketch of the all-new Carnival MPV (known as the Sedona in North America), which will make its world premiere at the upcoming Chicago Auto Show. Completely redesigned, the all-new Carnival will be larger than the previous generation vehicle in all major dimensions, including overall length and wheelbase, and will offer more horsepower than many of its competitors as well as a standard 60/40 split third-row seat which folds flat into the floor.

Both a short and long body version of the all-new Carnival will be produced, with the long body expecting to go on sale in late 2005 and the short body in early 2006. While only the short body will be available in Europe, both the long body and short body Carnival will be sold in all other markets.

"The long body version of the Carnival will be a perfect compliment to the redesigned short body version," said Senior Executive Vice President and COO, Mr. Yong-Hwan Kim. "The all-new Carnival MPV will carry on the tradition of its predecessor as one of the safest vehicles in its class while offering customers a more modern and stylish design," he added.
